We are a small team of professional aquarists and custom aquatic research system builders with many decades of combined experience designing and building aquatic life support systems for fishes, invertebrates and mammals. Over the years, we have built open flow through and closed recirculating systems for researchers, public aquaria, state and federal agencies and private citizens ranging from 75 gallons in volume to well into the hundreds of thousands of gallons. We are based on the Oregon coast but frequently travel throughout the U.S. installing aquatic research systems for fish and corals, custom aquariums and LSS in private homes, aquatic holding systems in state and federal agencies and other facilities.

The owner and design, build lead of our company has worked in public aquariums, marine science research centers, public universities, privately funded lab facilities, large resorts with aquatic exhibits and other facilities for more than 20 years. In the last three years alone, he has built custom aquatic research systems for the University of Southern California, University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Oregon State University, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other clients. He is now in the process of designing and building additional systems for these facilities based on the reliability and performance of previous systems.

In our experience working with clients over the years, we’ve found that researchers and our other clients prefer working with us over large corporations, as we provide precisely the type of systems they need quickly and affordably. They also like our timely communication, ongoing support and being on a first name basis with the aquarists who designed, built and installed the system. These are the types of working relationships that we prefer, as well. If you’re looking for a custom aquatic research system and would like to discuss your project with us, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at aquaticresearchsystems@gmail.com and let’s get started!
